As you can plainly see, this is a brand new deviantART group. I created this group because of the frustration I felt trying to get solid criticism on dA that was truly critical. The prospect of receiving honest criticism was the main reason I joined dA, and since I have joined I have noticed that other deviants are looking for the same thing. Instead of sitting around moping about the problem, I decided to be proactive and try to solve it.

To begin it will be easiest to define what this group is not. It is not a group for the thin-skinned. It is not a place to find an endless font of perfect adulation, no matter your skill-level. It is not a place to trade comments, favorites or even pageviews. It is not about hype, popularity or abusing the comments/favorites system in any way. It is not about getting your work reviewed and never critiquing the work of another artist. It is not about following only the work of your friends. It is not a place to chat, though friendly banter is encouraged. Most importantly: it is not a group about bashing other people’s hard work.

What this group is may be more elusive, but this is a place to start. It is a group about respect for artists and art; the best way to respect yourself as an artist and to respect your own art is to work to improve it. It is a group about encouraging the best from its members. It is a group about helping each other to better our art. It is a place for honest, specific and constructive criticism aimed at assisting your fellow artist in bettering his or her craft.

If you agree with the goals of this group, than please join and help it to grow. Submit a deviation for review, think of ways to make the group better. We will begin with weekly reviews once we have a few members and have recieved submissions.
